SERENGETI MUSIC: From Scoobi Doo, Hakym The Dream drops LAMBA

 WITH the effect of his latest song and video of Scoobi Doo remix that featured rap king Eldee The Don as well as winner of the last edition of the Big Brother Africa reality show, Karen Igho, yet to wear out, Nigeria’s latest music sensation, Hakym The Dream, has concluded plans on dropping his new single entitled Lamba.
 Produced by Serengeti’s teenage producer, Joshbeatz, Lamba with its sound and new level of sensible ‘jonzing’ style, is about to take Nigerian music to the next level. It is dropping in a couple of days as revealed by the artiste’s label.
 This fast rising star known as Hakym, real names Hakeem Olatunji appears to be on a music gravy train which is not planning on stopping soon. Having been nominated for the channel O awards in 2009 for his single called Plenty Plenty, Hakym went ahead in 2010 to release an R& B hit single entitled Dey There’.
 This song got the attention of a big record company Serengeti Music Limited in Lagos State. Wanting to be sure they were making the right decision to sign him, the label executive asked Hakym a.k.a Akoko to come up with another song with which they could Judge him. Perhaps because he was tired of the small break in between and was hungry for the right platform to promote his songs, Hakym as confident as ever, composed, produced and sang the song Scoobi Doo. The title was coined from a cartoon he watched as a child. The song was a comeback for Hakym and he told his fans that he was ready for a huge step.
 The Scoobi Doo crooner didn’t stop there, he went ahead to shoot the Scoobi Doo video with an almost zero budget by calling in favours from few friends in the industry. His immense talent helped him out because he also directed and edited the video himself. Once he released the song, it became a hit as anyone who hears it, immediately falls in love with it especially because of the melody.
Seeing the reaction of fans to the song, and Hakym’s uniqueness, creativity and talent, Serengeti Music wasted no time in signing a huge record deal with this young talented dude in October 2011. Immediately, Hakym recorded a remix of Scoobi Dooin which he featured Eldee The Don. The song was produced by the label’s American based producer, Lacemode. The video of Scoobi Doo remix which was shot by Clarence Peters (Capital) with a cameo by Big Brother Africa 2011 winner Karen Igho is unarguably one of the big budget videos rocking the airwaves now. Hakym the dream tweeted to his fans after being signed saying he had found a home in Serengeti Music. “I have finally found my footing, now it’s time to make some good music”. He said he was now poised to shock the industry with his creativity and musical charisma.
 The manager of Serengeti Music, Lynda Aguocha, said in an interview said that the difference between this young rising star and every other artiste in the game is that he is different. “His music and style is fresh. He is the one you would listen to when you are tired of hearing the same lyrics and beat, over and over again and his songs are lively, melodious and danceable. A typical example is his new single calledLamba coming very soon”, she said. Aguocha continued: “Hakym just like his record label, Serengeti Music, represents class. His music cuts across both the learned and unlearned but his style and personality stands him out. His music is fresh. He owns it. A blend of world class beat and melodious, brilliant but easy to understand lyrics and strong confident vocals.

 There is no entertainer like Hakym. He owns his brand and would definitely make any product’s brand standout. Hakym’s brand is BFN: Bold, Fresh and Nice”.

BEAUTY TIPS BY MISS ANITA: (HOW-TO)LIP COLOUR THAT LASTS ALL DAY

Everybody wants a longer lasting lip-colour

So today I thought I should share with people a massive beauty secret.
I have been ask so many time, "How can my lipstick last all night/day". I'll be sharing a short write-up on this and I promise, it will work... if it doesn't, come back to me.
  • ·         Before starting your make-up, apply any lip moisturizer of your choice {I use Vaseline}. Applying moisturizer before your make-up gives it more time to sink into the lip so that you don't have a greasy lip
  • ·         When you're done with your make-up, sparingly apply concealer all over you lips to mute out any lip discolouration and also for longevity.
  • ·         Then apply any loose powder over to set it or even you face powder

Now the fun part;
  • ·         Line your lips with a lip-liner same colour as your lipstick then fill in your entire lips with that same lip pencil {THIS IS THE SECRET}
  • ·         Now apply your favourite lipstick
  • ·         Apply your lip-gloss if you feel like and you are good to go hunnay!

Please note: If you are time strained, you can always skip step 2 and step 3

I hope I have been able to help someone with this. If you have any questions on this or anything to do with makeup, skincare and beauty, leave me a message, comment, tweet @laydeeedee or email me at goldstringsinc@gmail.com

Stay beautiful  :*

VOTE FOR GSi IN THE NIGERIAN BLOG AWARDS!

GSi Beauty: It's Blue Rain!!

All the colours used for this look are blue, transitioning from a light blue to a deep dark blue and using 4 colours.
(You can choose to use whatever shade of blue you want but make sure it's transitioning from a light to dark.)

Steps;

  • Starting from the inner corner and lower third of the eyes, apply your lightest colour. Applying just on the lid.
  • Choose your next colour and apply just after that; follow this same step for the next two colours till you get to the outer corner.
  • The most important step is blending all the colours together. Blend in an inward and upward motion, buffing the edges to get rid of any harsh lines; stopping just above the crease [like in the picture]
  • Choose an highlight [browbone] colour of your choice, here I have chosen an off-white colour.
  • Line your upper-line with a black liquid or pencil liner, line your water line with a black liner and line half of your bottom line with black liner [like in the picture]
  • Apply mascara or lashes and you're good to go!
Stay beautiful.
