VOCAL SLENDER’S GHETTO LOVE PROJECT (VALENTINE EDITION)

The Ghetto Love project is a brainchild of the BBC Welcome to Lagos star, Vocal Slender where he attracts the attention of the public (locally & internationally) to the plight and sufferings of the Ghetto children & youth in Ajegunle slum in Lagos, Nigeria where the one time scavenger was born & bred. 

Vocal Slender uses his influence to appeal to the elites to donate their children used clothes, bags, shoes, toys, books and any other life sustaining items that may be of benefit to the people living in the Ghetto.

The Valentine edition of the project held on the 18th February 2012 at Buraimoh Street in Ajegunle, Lagos having over 250 people in attendance ranging from Children, youths & Adults. All Children at the event ground were fed and various items (clothes, shoes, bags, toys, cups etc) were given out to the children, youths and even adults that were able to find their appropriate sizes.

A couple who got blessed with a baby girl 3 months ago was given a Baby Sitter.

Vocal Slender performed his youth motivational song: Ghetto Red Hot.

 The High point of the evening was when a young girl who is a 15 year old JSS 1 orphan of Oshodi Grammar School, Oshodi, Lagos was given a scholarship for her active participation in the project where she volunteered to help children cross the gutter, sorted clothes for easy pick up and served the food.

Gloria Peters

She is Gloria Peters who hails from Kogi State. She was born and bred in Kogi until the demise of her parents when she moved to stay with her aunt in Ajegunle, Lagos leaving back her 4 younger siblings hoping that one day she will be successful in Lagos and have enough to take care of them in future.

Gloria was not privileged to have Primary school education like her peers as she was busy supporting her mother in the market to make ends meet for the family. Her current school had no choice but to accept her to join JSS1 class and then observe over time her level of comprehension & performance in the class.

Vocal Slender is committed to supporting young Gloria achieve her dream of studying Arts in the University and he promised her in front of the people of Ajegunle to do everything in his capacity to attract well meaning people all over the world to the plight of Gloria and other Ajegunle children that desire to get educated. Vocal Slender desires to move Gloria to a private school where she can get the best of education so as to catch up with her peers.

Billz (real name Dele Hassan) is a rapper & singer from Abeokuta, Ogun State but resides in Lagos and is a 3rd yr Estate management student of UniLag.

He started rapping in 2008 but he had nothing major because he was more into football. But in 2009 when he got into UniLag his interest in music developed and he met PBlaze. And they went on to record "Ti Lo" in 2010 which was a major hit in UniLag and landed them a couple of shows off and on campus. 

In 2011 Billz and PBlaze featured Joshbeatz on "Shoot dem up" and since then there have been a couple of collaborations with the likes of Jaygwins, MLV, Hakym da Dream and Macstiles.

All is now set for the Miss Global Nigeria 2012 contestants as the screening date has been pegged for Thursday, May 17th at the prestigious upscale bar and lounge, La Mango situated on 2 Adekunle Fajuyi Way by Army Cantonment, G.R.A Ikeja, Lagos. MY REVIEW ON DAMMY KRANE + NEW MUSIC 'MY DEAR'

I had the loudest sigh of relief when I got news that Dammy Krane got a joint signing by Hyperteck (2face Idibia) and 323 Entertainments (TeeBillz and Tiwa Savage). He is the first Hyperteck signing; the rumours were not false!


I have personally watched Krane evolve well from his Uni Girls and Pooner days. 
He deserves this big break because the kid is hard working! His various collaboration exudes individuality and he has incorporated his personality and quirkiness into all of his music.


Social Networking sites were buzzing when 'My Dear' dropped and till date, people are still hyping!

Soul Singer GraceObika heading back home...

Grace Obika a singer/songwriter from North London, born in the UK but of Nigerian comes  from a strong musical background in her family, with one of her relatives breaking into the music industry Leaving his mark on the UK R&B market, Lemar Obika (Multi-Award winning British Soul/R&B Artist).

Grace’s music grabbed the attention of DJ/Producer Karl ‘Tuff Enough’ Brown (who has worked with  Rosie  Gaines, Tina Moore, Ce Ce Peniston, En Vogue, Brand New Heavies, Mark Morrison, Usher and Coolio, as well as entering the charts with his own productions, such as TJR Feat. Xavier "Just Gets Better" and TUFFJAM Feat. Jaquee Bennett "Need Good Love"), where Grace was approached with a song writing contract to write for an established group in Los Angeles called ‘Livin Out Loud’, alongside one of her own tracks titled “So Right” to be made into a house and garage track by the man himself. Karl Brown was so impressed by Grace work that he opted to work with herright away.

Amongst the many gigs and charity events that Grace has made her mark of performances of her original material,  specific highlights dated back to 2008 where Grace was invited to perform in Hollywood, Los Angeles for the film Premier of ‘Amazing Grace’, and was also invited to perform in Atlanta as a supporting act for Akons’ new artist and songwriter, Riz from the US. Fast-rising Hip-Hop artist GMAC - real name George Ayinde - has been blessed with a progressive flow and lyrical dexterity that is poised to propel him to the top of the Hip-Hop hierarchy and in an already overcrowded African music scene, Gmac is carefully carving his own lane and bringing a much needed finesse and freshness to the rap game. It has been said that music means different things to different people and for Dubai-based Gmac, music has always been a passion and a dream - one that has put him through his own fair share of trials and tribulations to be able to actualize now. 

The emerging rapper recorded his first song 2003 but his unapproving parents threw a spanner into the works of its release and seemingly put a stop to his career before it even began.
